    November HOTM by Buffie Johnson

November’s Hottie of the Month is a new-to-me hottie.  While watching one of my favorite shows, Ugly Betty, I was totally distracted from the storyline when the newest character, Connor Owens, appeared on screen.  That accent, those eyes, and that chiseled face held me spellbound. Needless to say, I had to find out who this hottie is.

Ladies, let me introduce you to Grant Bowler.   This sexy 40-year old was born in Auckland, New Zealand, thus his captivating accent. I could listen to that man speak all day (and night too!). He has been acting for several years. The majority of his roles have been in Australia. His most notable one was being the host of the Aussie version of The Mole for 4 years.    Before coming to Ugly Betty, Grant played Captain Gault on LosGrantBowler2t.

I can’t imagine coming into the office and finding out that the new Chief Financial Officer (head bean  counter) is this delicious looking man. He would definitely need to punch in a few formulas in my spreadsheet.  I have worked with a few good looking doctors in the past, but no one near as good looking as Grant.

Now ladies, here is my question for you.    Have you ever worked with a hottie such as Grant?   If so, did you ever mix business with pleasure?   Or did you just wish you could?  Come on, you can tell

OMG, Buffie, I can’t agree with you more. The character Grant Bowler plays has to be the most perfect male ever imagined into existence. It’s like if you took Daniel Craig, gave him an even hotter accent than he already has, and then gave him the manners of Prince Charming on top of that. Did you see last week’s Ugly Betty where he swung his fiance into his arms and carried her off? I almost swooned on my couch!

If someone like Connor worked in my office, I’d be way too intimidated to go for that. Who can compete with the perfect male? You’d have to be beating other women off with a stick 24/7. Way too exhausting. He’d make for great entertainment value, though.

Wow, I’ve never seen this guy before, but he definitely meets all the requirements for HOTM. And an accent? Yum. That tattoo has me all weak in the knees too 😉

There was one guy who used to work in our office who was drop-dead gorgeous, but he was married (of course she was beautiful) and he was just…so nice. After I got to know him the awe went away, and he’s since moved on, but it sure was nice having him to look at everyday.

Like heidenkind, I wouldn’t want to worry about dealing with other women throwing themselves at him all the time. It would probably be more of a headache than it’s worth, even for someone as hot as Grant here.

LOL Heidenkind, I too believe it would be way too exhausted to have a man like that in my life every single day. But I would definitely take a night or two 😉

I am lovin’ his character on Ugly Betty. I can’t wait to see what kind of mischief he is going to get into, and you know he will 🙂

Stacy, if for no other reason than to check Grant out, you really should watch him in action on Ugly Betty. I’m putty the rest of the night!

Whew! What a good choice, Buffie. Yeah, he’s a hottie alright.

I have worked with a hottie. We didn’t mix business with pleasure — we kept our work relationship strictly professional. And I eventually married him. 😉

That is one wonderfully attractive and well built man right there! Wow.

I worked with a great looking guy way back when… ack, something like fourteen years ago, back in Venezuela. Luis B *sigh* really good looking, with the most incredible eyes, intelligent as all get out, and man, sizzling chemistry.

Good thing he was very happily married, because I don’t think affairs at work survive for long as a rule, thus making the job atmosphere horrible for everyone after a break up.

Good choice, Buffie. I remember Grant on LOST. Very hot!

I’ve never worked with a hottie, but the owner of the gym that I went to years ago was gorgeous! Good thing we were both happily married, but I did enjoy looking. 😉

Azteclady — nope, affairs at work usually don’t work out. I was involved in a sexual harrassment case years ago because of that. No, it was not me in the affair. It was supposedly the boss and another co-worker. Talk about tension!

Gannon — Nope, ain’t nothing wrong with lookin’ 🙂

Perfect choice, Buffie. I remember him from LOST. Although he played a nefarious kind of guy, he was still delicious. I’m glad he’s found a more permanent home on Ugly Betty.

Umm, I believe in the policy of not “fishing off the company pier.” Although, honestly, I once dated a guy who I worked with. It was the worst kept secret in the office and I’m sure did neither of us any favors. But I wouldn’t do it now-a-days.

I work in the environmental community. Most of the guys I work with are either married or gay. Sad, but true. 😀

Definitely cute – and I can’t resist an accent. But who did he play on LOST? Maybe it was during one of the seasons I gave up on the show – although Marisa has be hooked again, and I’m anxiously waiting until its January return.

Kati – love that saying ‘fishing off the company pier’. I’m in agreement, unless they’re fortunate enough to get married like Andrea, they usually turn messy. I have a friend who did that with a married man in the office… lots of tears…lots of drama.

Nice choice, Buffie. He’s definitely drool worthy.

I dated a hottie at work when I was in my early twenties. He eventually dumped me for a new employee. Since we had been openly dating for some time, every woman, and most of the men, at the bank knew what was going on (and thought he was a jerk for dumping me) but I had learned my lesson. I never dated a co-worker again. I just admired them from a distance. 🙂

Hey, Buffie, nice to see you looking south of the Equator (and no, that is NOT a euphemism!) for inspiration. Isn’t he gorgeous? And nice and rugged looking. I do so like a change from pretty boys now and again, although pretty is fine in its place!!!! And Kati, I loved your company pier saying too. I think it’s a very wise policy. I’ve never dated anyone at work but I’ve seen it so often – and generally it’s the woman who has to move on and seems to take the brunt of the trouble when the relationship ends messily. Sigh. Anyway, going back to GB, he was on a really cheesy medical show here back in the 90s called Medivac that lasted only one season. But I used to watch faithfully. All those medical procedures? Nah, Grant being a paramedic and saving all those lives! Yum!

Anna — do you ever watch Grant in Outrageous Fortune? I’ve read somewhere that he was in that Aussie series.

Maria — he played Captain Gaunt on LOST. I’ve never gotten into that show so I really don’t know what season that is from.

Kati — I have heard the fishing statement before. Last night I heard another good one — Never dip your pen in the company ink!

    MMMMMMM! Verrry nice!

And even nicer to see someone OVER 30. Sorry, but when they are younger than my offspring, I find it difficult to drool over them. Guess I’m just old-fashioned that way. 😛

Working for state government all those years, I quickly became aware of a serious LACK of drool worthy guys. Oh well, I was never one to mix business with pleasure, UNTIL I started writing. Now drooling over all these gorgeous hunks is RESEARCH!

I’m sitting here grinning over the fact that you all like the Kiwi accent. You wouldn’t believe the stick I got for my (Kiwi) accent when I lived in the UK. (The MD always asked me what was for lunch whenever fish & chips were on the menu in the cafe).

I’m looking forward to seeing Grant in Ugly Betty when it screens here (which won’t be until early next year…we always get reruns over the summer 🙂

Buffie – Outrageous Fortune is actually a New Zealand series. I think Season 5 is currently being filmed. It has (I believe) been screened in Australia (on cable) and the rights have been sold in England, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Australia, Slovenia & Croatia. Plus I think a pilot for a US version of the show has been made for the ABC network.

I haven’t heard the fishing statement before (I like it though :), but I have hear ‘never dip your pen in the company ink’. And no, I never have. I have seen it from afar though – the fallout was very ugly!

Romances gone bad are ugly. But, romances gone wrong at work – it has catastrophe written all over it.

I remember when Grant played a police officer in an Australian show called Blue Heelers many moons ago and have always thought he was hot but I gotta say he gets hotter with age.
I have never been lucky enough to work with a real hottie let alone go out with one except of course my Hubby lol he is a hottie to me

    Have Fun

Thanks Orannia!! I guess I got that mixed up. Have you ever watched the show? I just wondered what it was like. Interesting to know that its rights have been sold to all those different countries.

Aunty Cindy — I’m so glad to know that Grant meets with your approval. I totally understand the whole under 30 age. Althought I am still in my 30s, I find it more difficult to drool over some 20-something year old guy. Difficult, but not impossible 😉 Hey, I’m not dead!

Helen — congrats on grabbing your own hottie 🙂

He is most definitely yummy. Since I’m one who tends to try and avoid any kind of gossip about me at work, I would probably avoid doing anything with him if I worked with him.

I’ve heard both the fishing saying and the ink saying and tend to agree with them, even though my brother’s best friend ended up marrying a co-worker, like Andrea. As for sexual harassment, the fact that my supervisor actually referred to one of the male students she hired as a work study as the office ‘eye candy’ only made me a bit wary of anything that had to do with the people I worked with.

You’re welcome Buffie 🙂 Unfortunately, I haven’t watched it. I missed the first two seasons as I was living in the UK and I have yet to catch up. What’s worse is that they just repeated Season 1 and I missed that too – GRRR! My brother LOVES it though and it rates exceptionally well here.
