This month’s Hottie of the Month is dedicated to an author I met recently at the Moonlight and Magnolias Conference in Atlanta.   She is a wonderfully sweet person who has a wit that kept me smiling throughout the night.   A woman who could easily be your best friend — one you could share your secrets.   This blog is dedicated to Jennifer St. Giles.

Gerardbutler2 Not only is Jenni a wonderful lady and gifted author, but while the RNTV group was having dinner with her and fellow author Jacquie D’Alessandro, Jenni revealed an interesting fact that shot her WAY UP in points in my little book.    Sweet, darling Jenni has met, spoken with, and even touched . . . are you ready for this . . . the handsome, sexy, utterly delicious Gerard Butler.   GERARD BUTLER!!!!!!   Needless to say I was in complete shock and awe.   Can you Gerardbutler3 imagine stand in front of this gorgeous man?

I think we are all quite aware of just who Gerard Butler is, but here are few quick facts about this hottie.

~ born in Glasgow, Scotland (he has a sexy accent)
~ graduated from Glasgow University Law School (he’s got brains too!)
~ has appeared in several films including Dracula 2000, Phantom of the Opera, Tomb Raider, 300, PS I Love You, and Nims Island.

Now my question for you is . . . are you holding out on me too?   Have you meet, talked, and touched a famous, sexy man?    Girl, if you have . . . you need to spill.   Right.  This.  Minute.

LOL – Buffie! Yes, if only everyone could have seen how all of our mouths dropped open when Jenni said that. Priceless. 😀

Excellent choice, Buffie!! Gerard is one of my ultimate favorites right next to Christian Bale and Richard Armitage. I can watch 300 over and over and over… *sigh*

Andrea, I’m sure my eyes bugged right out of my face when she said she had talked with him. And then when I asked her if she had touched him, and she said yes, I’m pretty sure I sighed heavily and leaned all the way back in my chair.

And I knew that you would bring up Christian Bale. He’s your man!

LOL@ Buffie! I can confirm that yes, you did sigh heavily and lean all the way back in your chair, after your eyes had settled back into their sockets that is. It was too funny when she oh so casually made that announcement. You could hear jaws (and forks) drop all around the table!

Sorry to say that I haven’t touched any famous, sexy, gorgeous men but I have touched Jenni. Does that count? (grin)

Yes, PJ, it does count. I have been telling everyone here at work that there are only 1 degree of separation between me and sexy Gerard 😉

Buffie – there is only 1 degree of separation between you and Gerard. I have to admit I’ve never seen 300 *ducks head* but I did love him in P.S. I love you. He was oh so charming.

I’ve met some Hotties in my time – but I have to say the one that made the most impression on me was Paul Newman – yes he was at a shoot once and I have to tell you – those eyes, bluer than blue. And he was quietly charismatic. One of a kind.

Buffie – nothing is sexier than a Scottish accent. I may not always understand what they are saying, but the lit is to die for!!!

Seriously, I really think that Gerry is among the hottest men on the planet. He’s just sublime. I adore him.

And that sweet, sweet Scottish accent? He could read the phone book to me and it would totally do it for me.

    He’s just delicious.

Marisa — Paul Newman??!! Oh, I bet it was something seeing him! Were you able to make complete sentences? LOL!

MK — I am in totally agreement with you there. That man is just IT. Capitalized, underlined, bolded, italized, EVERYTHING!!!

She is a lucky, lucky woman. Sigh. Not only does he have that meltingly delicious accent, but he is so masculine and sexy in a way that makes him perfect hero material, but also has that rugged quality that makes him seem like your everyday type of guy, very approachable and charming. Yum.

Buffie, I’m surprised we didn’t all need forklifts to lift our jaws up off the floor when Jenni made that announcement! It was so funny the way she said it, so quiet and nonchalant. Me, I would be jumping up and down telling everyone! Gerry is just…*sigh* wonderful!!

Alas, I have never had a close encounter with a hot male celebrity. I think I’ll use that one degree of separation from Gerry. Good idea, Buffie. 🙂

In 1988, I worked as a runner at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions for NBC.

One day, in Atlanta (the Democratic Convention), I got a call from a friend who was working the front desk at the NBC compound. She whispered into the phone, “JFK, Jr. and Justine Bateman are headed your way!” (JFK & Justine were dating at the time). So, I quickly fluffed my hair, applied a little lip gloss (a girl wants to look her best, in case JFK Jr takes one look at her and falls immediately and irrevokably in love). Next thing I know, every female runner working for NBC is in the newsroom trying to look busy. A moment later, in he walks. He was wearing a navy blue collared shirt and blue jeans. He came in and went straight over to Tom Brokaw’s office (which was directly behind my desk). Brokaw stepped out and they began to chat. As they were chatting, JFK took out a cigarette. Being the tremendously sophisticated 18 year old that I was, I of course, smoked. He was patting his pockets looking for a light. I casually pulled a cigarette out from my pack and picked up my lighter to light it. “Excuse me,” he said, smiling at me (great DIMPLES!), “may I bum a light?” “Of course,” I replied trying to look sophisticated. He did grab my hand to stead the light as he leaned into me to light his cigarette. “Thanks,” he said as he turned back and kept talking to Brokaw.

And there you go. Me and JFK, almost a couple forever.

What great photos!! I didn’t realize Gerard was the one in Phantom. I LOVED that movie!!

I’m afraid I’ve never been as lucky as Jenni to meet someone so exciting and famous. How did she get so lucky??! 🙂

Oh, goodie, I love this topic. Until I went to DragonCon over Labor Day weekend, the most famous actor type I could say I’d met was Lou Diamond-Phillips, ages ago. But I have photographic proof that I met and was touched by Tahmoh Penikett (Helo on Battlestar Galactica), Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk from Firefly/Serenity, and James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Go to this link to see the proof. 🙂
