Book Give Away – Twin Talk True Blood Part 2

Maria caught me off guard. I couldn’t think of one paranormal romance book where the drinking of blood between the hero and heroine isn’t about seduction. So – if you can name a book and back me up on this you win a book! A random poster will be chosen later tonight.

Black Dagger Brotherhood. Love Eternal. Rhage and Layla exchange blood and it isn’t seduction. It’s sustenance.

Oh. Hero and Heroine. Huh. Let me think on it.

The Twilight series? Since the Cullens only drink animal blood, it’s just sustenance. And when the non-Cullen vampires drink human blood, it’s either to inflict pain or for sustenance. No seduction there as far as I noticed.

I have absolutely no idea. You know me, if it’s not about seduction then why bother 😉 LOL!

    Good luck ladies!

Heidenkind, I haven’t read the Twilight Series – do tell.

Kati – you’re right Rhage and Layla were all about sustenance.

I still can’t think of another H&H vampire romance book but I’m going to research it right now.

So far Heidekind is winning – any one else have any suggestions?

Marisa, you should check out the Twilight books. They’re very romantic–the starry-eyed, young love type of romance. Very sweet. 🙂

Oooh, would Buffy the Vampire Slayer count? There are books based on the TV series.

In Drop Dead Gorgeous by Kimberly Raye, when Dillon drinks from Meg it’s not about seduction at all. He drinks from her to get the necessary sustenance to recover from being shot by an animal tranquilizer.

I know there’s another out there. I just read the excerpt for it yesterday. The hero has the heroine drink his blood to keep her from dying. I’m trying to find the title now.

Heidenkind – Buffy certainly does count!

Karin – I haven’t read Drop Dead Gorgeous , but thanks so much for letting us know about this one. Waiting to hear about the other book.

See Maria – drinking blood isn’t ALWAYS about seduction.

Urgh…it’s killing me that I can’t figure out the name of that book. I’m going to keep searching for it…

But, I have another that came to my mind. At the end of Wicked Nights by Nina Bangs, Donna Nolan (the heroine) gets some blood from a vampire friend and has Eric Mackenzie (the hero) help her as she drinks it to turn vampire since he is a hereditary vampire and can’t turn her with his blood.

The first one that sprung to mind for me (and I can’t believe I didn’t think of Lover Eternal) was Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs – Mercy and Stefan share blood (although I can’t remember in which order….which means I need to read the book again!)

Congrats, Karin!! Could the other book you were thinking about be BE MINE TONIGHT by Kathryn Smith?

Wow, thanks! I’ll send you that email shortly.

Andrea, I hadn’t heard of that one. I think I was thinking of Patrice Michelle’s Scions: Resurrection and confusing Jachin’s use of his salive to heal Ariel’s wounds with drinking blood.

However, just before I fell asleep last night, I remembered a story I read in a Silhouette Nocturne ebook anthology I got last for free December called Holiday with a Vampire. In Caridad Pineiro’s story ‘Fate Calls’ in that anthology, the vampire hero, Hadrian, shares his blood with the human heroine, Connie Morales, to prevent her death after she is mortally wounded by a mugger.

Yikes Karrin! Hanging my head in shame — I love Caridad’s books and I know the Vampire series well… Okay, I’m wrong Marisa, I admit it.

Thanks Karin and every one else for straightening me out.
