    Tap, Tap, Click

If you surround yourself with enough technology – you never have to leave your home. And that is the point – to keep us all compartmentalized in our own little world? A world where people don’t meet unless it’s on-line? Are we getting closer and closer to letting a computer make our decisions?

With a tap, tap, tap of the keyboard and a couple of clicks of the mouse, you can pay your bills , buy groceries, clothes, furniture, toiletries, gifts, automobiles and vacations.

Why pay 10 bucks to see a film? Just, tap, tap, click – you can wait for snail mail – or you can download it instantly.

Want the lastest book – tap, tap, click – mail or download — your choice.

But where’s the human contact? Since we don’t need to leave our home for anything – will our future relationships be with the guy who delivers the pizza to our front door?

Do you prefer to go out and do things or do you sit in front of your computer and let technology do it for you?

You know it depends what I looking for. Shopping with a 5 yr old is NOT fun, so I try to limit having to do that as much as possible. Shoes and clothes I won’t buy online. I need to try on, walk around, make sure everything fits right. I don’t like returning this by mail. But video games, DVDs, reference books, I have no problem buying those online. Romance novels, however, I’m too impatient to wait for them to come in the mail. I must get them at the stores directly.

Bev – I’m with you – when it comes to clothes and shoes, I gotta try them on. I’ve bought pants on line before, and I ALWAYS have to send them back – it’s those darn hips of mine.

I still like to go to the store and see and touch what I may buy. Guess I’m old fashion that way. Besides, I usually try to hit the clearance aisles while I’m there.

I usually prefer to see and buy. I want the full sensual experience. Yeah, watch Keira go wild in the kitchen small appliances aisle.
