What’s on Your Hit Parade of Romance Novels?

It’s holiday time – that means gift giving. We all have those people on our list that we agonize over what to give – what to give?! Then it hits you, “I’ll buy them a book.”

If this bright idea strikes while you’re at the mall you might walk into the bookstore and browse. What next? The endless browsing through stacks, racks and piles, hoping the right book will jump up and scream, “Buy me!” Followed by the doubts – what would they really like? What was the last book I saw on their coffee table or night stand? Do I know them well enough to get them something they would enjoy?

This got me to thinking – if I were going to purchase a romance novel for someone else, what would I buy them? I’d buy them something I would enjoyed reading. So here’s my short list:
As a time travel junkie, I’d definitely get them a copy of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. If they hadn’t yet experienced The Brotherhood, I’d most certainly put J.R. Ward’s Dark Lover into the pile. If I thought historical was their bag, I’d give them one of of Lisa Kleypas’ Wallflower Series, or a new book I just finished The Winter Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. For contemporary, I’d say Nora Roberts’ Blood Brothers. — Ah heck, who am I kidding – there are just too many to choose from.

If you were giving romance books as a gift – which would you choose?

“An Affair Before Christmas” by Eloisa James is a perfect Christmas gift. Well done Ms James!

I love “A Kiss to Remember “by Teresa Medeiros.

I would have to give someone the entire Wallflower series. One of those books is just not enough.

“A Woman of Virtue” by Liz Carlyle has a bit of mystery and intrigue. I like it so much I bought the hard cover version of it for my self for Christmas. “My False Heart” would also make an excellent gift. And that beautiful cover…how deliciously creepy is that?

For the woman on my list who loves to gamble its “One Night With A Prince” by Sabrina Jeffries.

The contemporary reader on my gift giving list would get Elizabeth Bevarly’s “My Man Pendleton “ and “How to Trap a Tycoon”.

My two biggest turn-ons with romantic books are: 1. Laughing & 2. Paranormal Elements

If I can’t get both I’ll settle for one or the other.

I’d give a romance lover any of the following:

    1. All of J.R. Ward’s books!

    2. Dragon Heat – Allyson James

    3. All of Ms. Kresley Cole’s books!

    4. Daughter of the Sun – Barbara Wood

    5. Lord of the Fading Lands – C.L. Wilson [Sequel: Lady of Light & Shadows]

    6. The Warriors of Poseidon – Alyssa Day OR Water Nymph – Gena Showalter

    7. Goddess of Spring – P.C. Cast

    8. Fantasy Lover – Sherrilyn Kenyonn

    9. The Distressing Damsel – Shelly Laurenston

    10. Lord of the Deep – Dawn Thompson

    11. The Smoke Thief – Shana Abe
