    Half Dones…

There are many joys to being married – no doubt.  BUT, one of things that has really tried my patience over the years is an annoying habit my DH has of saying he’s done the laundry.  He says it as though I should be extremely happy that he’s done a great, big, huge, gigantic thing.  Does he not wear clothes and underwear?.  Do these too need to be washed?  The answer would be yes.  So why wouldn’t he do the laundry – half the stuff in hamper belongs to him.

But, I digress – the point is he doesn’t really do the laundry, he only washes the clothes.  Here’s what I mean.  He washes the clothes, puts them in the dryer and dumps them in a basket.  Occasionally, he’ll walk them upstairs and put them on the sofa in our bedroom, where they will sit for days as he sorts through what he might need for the day.  This is NOT doing laundry, this is washing the clothes, this is a half done.

Ladies – are you living with anyone who gives you half-dones?

I should not whine but I will. My husband is a firm believer in the “I cooked, you clean up rule.” I love that he cooks, and he’s pretty good about cleaning as he goes, but I’m still stuck clearing the table and washing the dishes. *ducking now*

Yup, my husband has no issues with non-folded clothing. His reasoning: He doesn’t know how I like it. In the drawer or hanging up is how I like it! Yes, I’ll admit that when I fold laundry I’m anal about it…but what he puts in his dresser doesn’t bother me..ok maybe a little when I find a t-shirt in his sock drawer.

So anyhow, I end up getting baskets of clothing. You should see what I get to come home to from the hospital. Tell him to wash the sheets while I’m gone..he does, then throws them on the bed and that’s it. No making the bed…that’d actually be FINISHING it lol.

I will admit that he does cook wonderful meals and will often clean the dishes the next day..(we always wait til next day). But with everything else, I end up doing half the work because he loads it strangely and only half the dishes will fit in the dishwasher lol. So I’m stuck doing another load because he doesn’t know how to organize.

Anyone else wondering why we love these guys? I love mine cause he supports my romance addiction lol j/k.

As far as laundry goes, Maria, I’d be the one you’d be mad at. Right now, there’s a clean load sitting in the dryer and another clean one in the basket that I have to put away.

Oh, and the clincher is that this situation has been unchanged for the past, um, three days. 🙂

Ah Maria, again I say, we were separated at birth.

While I don’t have a man to do things half done. I have a roommate who seriously lacks my OCD behavior. Now, I know that I’m a peevey person. But, really, when you open the pantry and pull something out of it, is it really SO hard to close the pantry behind you? Is it?!?!?!

Okay, the men in my house are not even allowed to touch the laundry. I like it folded a certain way and go balistic if it isn’t. urgh.
