    We’re Back From RWA!

Marisa, Kim and I attended our first RWA Conference this year – and it was a total blast!

Hundreds and hundreds of romance authors – what’s not to love!

Most days we were in rooms interviewing authors, our favorite thing to do.  Other days we had a chance to meet some fabulous people, like Candy and Sarah from Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Novels, one of the Ja(y)ne’s from Dear Author…, Jax from Romance Divas and Sybil from The Good The Bad and The Unread.

In the coming weeks and months you’ll see some exciting interviews – A Squawker’s Reunion, a Paranormal Party with Kerrilyn Sparks, Kathryn Smith and newcomer Jeaniene Frost.  We’ll also have a new Girl Talk segment with P.C Cast and Lori Avacato hosted by Cathy Maxwell.

We were very excited to interview the authors from Dorchester’s new romance line called SHOMI – Liz Maverick, Maryanne Mancusi and Eve Silver.  These authors are ones to watch out for.

Sophia Nash invited us to tag along and film a girl’s night out – Texas style. You won’t want to miss this segment – line dancing and bull riding. Yeehaw!!

We had the chance to film the RWA Literacy Signing.  The event, in a word, was fantastic; they raised over $56,000.00 in two hours.  You’ll be hearing from the women who organized the event and how they go about raising money for this very worthy cause.  The signing was mobbed, with hundreds of authors and readers -the RNTV cameras were there and spoke to Linda Howard, Mary Castillo, Lorraine Heath, Stephanie Rowe, Caridad Pinero, and many, many more.

We want to give a very special thanks to RWA for making this a very successful conference for us.  They couldn’t have been more gracious.  A special shout out goes to Nicole Kennedy, Kathleen Adey,  Judy Scott and RWA President Jill Limber.

This week you’ll see our coverage of the Red Carpet at the RITA Awards, hosted by Sophia Nash.

Before I go back into the editing room, so we can bring you all the fabulous programming – below are some of our photos from the RWA 2007 Conference.  Enjoy!

Me, Eloisa James, Christina Dodd, Kim, Lisa Kleypas, Teresa Medieros and Elizabeth Beverly.

Christina Dodd, Elizabeth Beverly, Eloisa James and Lisa Kleypas, did not let a little thing like Connie Brockway fly fishing in Alaska to research her next book stop them from having her at the Squwaker’s Reunion.

Linda Lael Miller getting ready for an interview.

Nora Roberts getting ready for her interview.  Can you see Marisa off to the corner?  She’s still hiding from the cameras.

Sophia Nash getting ready to interview authors on the Red Carpet before the RITA Awards.

Sophia Nash,Alyssa Day and Kathryn Caskie congratulate Kresley Cole on winning the RITA.

Sophia_jess_and_camera_2Sophia Nash interviews RITA winner Jessica Bird (a.k.a. J.R.Ward).

Brooke_from_dorchesterBrooke Borneman, Director of Sales and Marketing for Dorchester stopped by to say hello after the ceremony.

Tina Trevaskis from Borders Group Inc. and  Erin Galloway the Marketing and Publicity Coordinator from Dorchester Publishing with Pamela Clare the
2007 RITA nominee for Best Long Historical enjoying the after party reception.

RITA Finalist Jaquie D’Alessandro with RITA Winner Julia Quinn.

Marisa didn’t think we’d catch her on camera – ( with her mouth open, no less) but there she is with Sybil from “The Good, The Bad and The Unread” and Ja(y)ne from “Dear Author”. (Shhh… don’t tell Marisa) Sybil and Ja(y)ne were helping us round up the winners for interviews.Marisa_sybil_and_jayne

I was lucky enough to meet Maria last December but I’d never seen Marisa. Of course, I had a good idea they might look a bit alike. LOL! Everyone looks fantastic and thank you so much for sharing these with us.
