Musings

For all intents and purposes the summer is over and now we can begin to organize our lives. Some of us are starting school, or our children are going back to school. Some of us may be starting new jobs, or looking for new jobs. Many of us are bringing out our warm sweaters as well as sleeping with extra blankets. A new season means new adventures as well as the commencement of seasonal rituals. One autumn ritual I always observe is checking out what’s new on TV.  As per usual, I’ll be watching ALL the new shows being produced this year. I’m always curious to see what the networks and producers come up with and what they think we’ll like.  To that end I always give each show a…

Anna DeStefano photoWell, actually, I was masquerading at the “Con” as a Paranormal Thriller writer. So the experience was less Alice In Wonderland than it sounds. Though I did see the Mad Hatter while I was there…

And there was this great group of kids rocking a Harry Potter theme. They’d vamped it up with a Gossip Girl flair. How cool is that! Tons of fans were showing their Star Wars luv, wearing awesome costumes. I even saw an killer R2D2 replica. There were so many amazing characters and aliens and creatures of the night. People roaming the halls and ballrooms and lobbies in full makeup and costume 24/7. It was a non-stop spectacle that I can’t describe in words. So, here are a few pics to get you in the mood ;o)…

blood_robertsBlood Brothers by Nora Roberts
1st book in The Sign of Seven Trilogy
Publisher Penguin

September’s Mystery Book is: Blood Brothers. This is the first book in Nora Roberts’ Sign of Seven Trilogy. I loved this series. All three books, Blood Brothers, The Hollow and The Pagan Stone have what you come to expect and love in a Nora Roberts paranormal trilogy; suspense, action, mystery, deep abiding friendship, a well defined story arc with a solid mythology and romance. A great book and a great series, one I highly recommend.

“In the small village of Hawkins Hollow, three best friends who share the same birthday sneak off into the woods for a sleepover the evening before turning 10. But a night of pre-pubescent celebration turns into a night of horror as their blood brother oath unleashes…

mystery_bookI’m so honored to be September’s Mystery Book. I’ve been sitting on the sidelines and watching the game for a while and I must say you are all very good at it.  I will try to answer your questions honestly and only take the 5th when I feel it is absolutely necessary. Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I’m a book that many of you might have read, or least I’m hoping many of you have read.  Although I have some humorous moments, I sit between light and dark, good and evil, hope and despair. I guess you could also say that I come first. See, I’m trying to play fair here. So dear reader, get your questions ready and try to guess by…

RhysUhlichSeptember has arrived and school is back in session.   This had me thinking back to my own school days, remembering the fun times I had and the teachers who influenced me.    Low and behold, while I was pondering the educators of my past Van Halen’s Hot for Teacher song blares from my radio.   Immediately my mind goes back to 9th grade and Coach Goodman. *sigh*  Man, that science teacher and basketball coach was a cutie.   It sure is hard to concentrate on the exciting subject of earth science while cutie pie is standing in front of me!   So this month’s Hottie of the Month is dedicated to all those hot teachers.

Now, let me introduce you to Rhys Uhlich.  Rhys is a native Australian and a surfer dude.  Last year, Rhys…
