I like heroines who have overcome adversity and draw upon their inner strength and triumph over a villian! I like when they start out shy and sheltered and go through a transformation and travel to faraway and exotic countries.

Oh yes, Kleypas’ Lillian Bowman is another favorite, Kati. I’m just getting ready to read the second Julie James book this weekend, I did like the heroine in her first book. Olivia in Jo Goodman’s Price of Desire is another favorite.

A new favorite – Mina in Written on Your Skin by Meredith Duran, plays the ditz using her beauty, but very smart.

I guess my favorite heroine would have to be Bella from J.R. Ward’s Lover Awakened. She seemed to have it all, she was smart and sexy, and what I liked about her most was she went for someone who was clearly not on the same level as her in looks or personality, but she could see deeper than most to what Z was really like. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we all had that quality?

I’m very wxcited to read C. Dodd’s new book. I haven’t been to the book store all summer if you can believe it, but she is the aouthor I will be buying first when I finally make it there.

Hey Andrea – another great list! You’ve done it again! Thank you.

This is a hard question – you know the old song – when you’re not near the one you love , love the one you’re near. So give me a well written heroine and it doesn’t matter if she’s a strong independent intelligent take no prisoners kind ‘o gal OR a shy, reserved, naive just learning about life kind o’ gal – if she’s written well I’m there.

Recently I’ve been very excited about Cheyenne McCray’s heroine Lexi Steele – she is an amazing kick ass heroine. Of course I love Eve Dallas for all the same reasons. I’m also with Jody – Brockmann’s new heroine Jerrilyn in Hot Pursuit, is a character I really embraced. I think I liked her so much because she had so many of the ‘every woman’ quality about her – she rang true. Another great heroine is Win from Kleypas’ Seduce Me at Sunrise. I like her determination which is so wonderfully balanced with her kindness. And yes, I could go on and on; so I’ll stop now.

There are so many great books out this month and so many great heroines that I couldn’t possibly name them all. I like heroines who are smart, sassy and confident.

Andrea, please exclude me from the contest. I came home from RWA with enough books to last me into 2010!

I love a heroine who is strong and feisty, but soft enough to tame the man she loves. There are way too many for me to name right now.

My fav heroines is plain janes who get’s a tough fine hero that you just don’t picture with the heroine. One of them is Bride from Night Play- Sherrilyn Kenyon. Also I like women who kicks butt one of them is Tayla from Larissa Ione’s Pleasure Unbound.
