My favorite type of hero is also the type I’d like to read more about; the tortured hero. Reading about a man who has come from a terrible background makes him far more interesting to me as a person, and much for interesting to read about. I can try to find the good in him.

The worst tortured hero I’ve read about is Sean Culhane from Christine Monson’s STORMFIRE. His mother was raped and murdered in front of him when he was young and that set him on the path of revenge. He kidnaps the daughter of his enemy, the man behind his mothers murder, and treats her horribly. So, yeah, he’s my favorite kind of hero!

Oooh! I love most of those authors. My man I like reading about is strong, does some sort of physical stuff in the book like brawls or fences, and is aggressively virile! Dark hair and eyes too. I just finished this great Christine Dodd book and it had it all!

I love historical romance – so my favorite hero’s include Stephanie Laurent’s Bar Cynster. The men are extremely good-looking and arrogant but know that the women really do run the show.

Andrea, I see we have several heros in common. I like both tortured and beta heroes. More Kleypas favorites – Derek Craven and Nick Gentry. A new favorite, Sebastian St. Cyr, a Viscount who investigates murdres in CS Harris series of the same name (What Angels Fear is first).
