The Shelf Life, a university book store in Seattle held a “Read Dating” Event. What’s “Read Dating”? Its speed dating meets book clubs. Attendees had eight minutes to chat with each other about their favorite books and authors before moving on to the next man or woman.
Can you tell a lot about a person in 8 minutes? Can you tell anything about a person from what they read? Hmmm…

Time Magazine’s article on the boom in romance novels is terrific and features Harlequin. Not so terrific is their continued use of the phrase ‘bodice rippers.’ Seriously, can they throw that word out of the romance lexicon once and for all. Please.

Hmm, I’m not really sure that this would work. 8 minutes is not a long time to get to know someone. But I would love to be a fly on the wall!
