Centuries ago, an ancient Celtic relic, The Circle of Light, resided within the church on McDonough land.  As long as the people worshipped and protected it, the Circle brought fortune and good luck to everyone there.  And then one night a greedy pirate, the Black Scotsman, stole the ethereal artifact for his own, placing a terrible curse upon both families…

Readers have been begging for Gabriel Prescott’s story since 2003, when he appeared in Just the Way You Are, the first book in Dodd’s contemporary Lost Texas Hearts series.  Over the next five years, Gabriel continued to intrigue readers with appearances in books from that series as well as Dodd’s romantic suspense, Fortune Hunter series.  Now, finally, with the March 3rd release of Danger in a Red Dress, Gabriel’s story comes to life in an unforgettable book that brings the two series together in a stunning conclusion.

firstsin1.JPGFirst Sin is a Lexi Steele Novel and the heroine, Lexi Steele, is all sorts of damaged. However she is not a victim – she’s one of the strongest heroines I’ve read. elizamber-3.jpgA reader emailed me recently, asking why I’d caused Lyon so much difficulty in certain chapters of Lyon, The Lords of Satyr. She listed the chapters and events in which I’d beat up on the poor guy. It came through that she had been genuinely hurting for my hero.  I was taken aback, but—okay I’ll just say it—I was secretly pleased.

Causing trouble is part of my job as an author, and it’s a part I enjoy.  I create characters, heap trouble on them, and make them fight their way out of it to become stronger, better people in the end. I try to make the perils they face feel real, so you the reader will worry that the hero/heroine might wind up physically or emotionally dead. That’s what I did…
