As many of you know, I attended the Moonlight & Magnolias conference in Atlanta this past weekend and had an absolute blast! It was so good to see Buffie again and to finally meet PJ and Gannon. I was also able to see and spend time with several of my favorite authors (whom I also consider friends), Jenna Petersen, Jacquie D’Alessandro and Teresa Medeiros. So, I want to know — which of your favorite authors have you met? Where did you meet them? Which author(s) would you absolutely LOVE to meet?

Until next month, happy reading!

WOW Andrea, I can’t believe how many new releases there are this month. I’m blown away… no wonder my TBR pile needs it’s own apartment.

As for meeting authors – well I’ve been extremely lucky. Maria and I have met so many wonderful authors over the past 2 years. There are several authors that are very special to me. Sophia Nash, Cathy Maxwell, Kathryn Caskie, Caridad Pinero and Eloisa James. These women were among the first authors I met in person and their generosity of spirit, support and advice have been invaluable. Truly terrific women and authors that I am privileged to know.

Then of course when I first met J.R. Ward I could barely speak much less interview her. Her warmth and graciousness shinned through from the first moment I met her and she has been an incredible support for RNTV ever since. A rare spirit and a truly remarkable woman.

When we met Nora Roberts I didn’t have enough saliva in my mouth to spit. So Maria had to do the interview. She’s a class act. She was warm, welcoming and professional; especially since we invaded her husband’s book store (Turn The Page) with a bunch of cameras for hours during a really busy book singing. She smiled and was kind to us the ENTIRE day. She was great!

Then there is Anna Campbell. The first time I met her she was incredible. She is warm, funny, intelligent, charming and so very nice. I felt like we’d been friends for a long time. When she smiles you feel like smiling with her. And since we’ve met she’s been an amazing friend to us. When ever I get an email from her I’m either laughing or smiling for hours.

When Maria met Christina Dodd – a terrific, generous, kind and funny woman, I was in awe. Maria got to visit with her in her home and I was sooo jealous. But when I finally got to met Christina – I understood why Maria was talking about her for weeks. Christina is another woman whose emails I look forward to – even when she writes a 4 line email I’m riveted.

Same for Teresa Medieros – She couldn’t be more amazing with a great generosity of spirit – well you know.

But – as I said I’ve been very lucky and all the authors I’ve met have been remarkable.

The authors I’m waiting to meet – let’s see… Jessica Andersen, Lori Foster, Christine Feehan, Brenda Jackson, Lydia Joyce, Sara Reinke, Meljean Brooks, – well you get the picture there’s a lot on my list.

Thanks for the wonderful list of new books this month – and I’m so glad you had a good time at the M&M conference.

Wow, look at all those books!!! I’m in heaven!

I, too, had a wonderful time at the M&M Conference with Andrea, PJ, and Gannon. It was great to meet some online buddies. I have to say the highlight of the weekend for me was meeting Teresa Medeiros. OMG! I don’t think I really said more than 10 words at breakfast — I was just in awe to be sitting at the table with her. It was great to meet Jenna Petersen, who can talk so fast it is unbelieveable! As always, it was wonderful to see Jacquie again and to have her introduce me to Jennifer St. Giles was such a treat.

Speaking of Jacquie . . . I just got an email from her with some wonderful news.

“And hey—I just got some GREAT news—When the USA Today list comes out tomorrow, It Happened One Night will be # 48, which the first time I’ve broken into the top 50. But even better—when the New York Times list comes out on Friday, the book will be sitting in the…wait for it…number 20 spot!!! It made the list! I am SO excited!!!! ”

Isn’t that just wonderful!!! I am so happy for her!

I love the list, but groan because I don’t know if I can handle more books. Still, I’m willing to give it a try *g*

Buffie, I met Jenna earlier this year, and she’s very smart and a lot of fun. It sounds like you had a wonderful time :)

Marisa, I’ve met Lori several times (I go to her event every year) and she is one of the most down-to-earth, fun and caring people you’ll ever meet. Her family definitely is the most important thing in her life, and it shows. She’s amazing. I love her.

My exciting news is that I’ll be meeting Julia Quinn & Laura Lee Guhrke this Monday at a booksigning – woo hoo! I cannot wait!

Oh! I had the chance to meet Colleen Gleason this year, and I *LOVED* her! First, she’s adorable, with fabulous hair. Second, she’s so warm and sweet and smart. She hosted a readers coffee while she was in DC visiting this June. I got to pick her up at the Metro and have a one on one visit with her on the way to the bookstore. One of her fans drove from Harrisonburg, VA (over 2 hours away) to meet her. How cool is that?? Anyway, it was a TOTAL highlight for me to get to meet her. I’m planning to take the entire week off for RWA this year in DC and will spend my time stalking authors and hanging out in the bar.

Two authors I want most to meet? Nora Roberts and Lisa Kleypas. I believe I might burst into tears meeting Lisa. Her books have gotten me through plenty of rough times. And Nora? Well, she’s my favorite author of all time.

I love hearing all of the stories about meeting authors!

Yeah, Kati, I must meet Lisa Kleypas as well. LOVE her. Suzanne Brockmann is tied w/ Lisa for my favorite author, and I was lucky enough to meet her. She’s wonderful.

Stacy, I’m really looking forward to meeting Lori, hopefully this June.

Kati – I’ve met Lisa and she’s wonderful. Very gracious.
I’m glad your going to be taking a week off during Nationals next year – save some time for me! We should have an RNTV pajama party and invite all the authors we want to meet.

Love the video, Maria and Marisa!!! It is awesome!!

The first author I ever met (and it was my first booksigning) was Karen Hawkins. That woman is an absolute hoot! Trisha and I were so nervous, but she quickly had us in stitches.

At the Atlanta RWA Literacy signing, we were able to meet many, many authors such as Victoria Alexander, ShaneBolks/Shana Galen, Jacquie D’Alessandro, Suzanne Enoch, Karen Hawkins (again), Candice Hern, Julie Anne Long, Teresa Medeiros, Jenna Petersen, Julia Quinn, Lisa Valdez, Kathryn Smith, Sari Robins, Sophie Jordan, Anne Mallory, Julianne MacLean, Mary Reed McCall, Margo Maguire, Betina Krahn, Lorraine Heath, Robyn DeHart, Melody Thomas, Eloisa James, Christina Dodd, Sabrina Jeffries, Sylvia Day, Gayle Callen and Samantha James.

At the Paper Dolls Book Bash, we met Julia Quinn (again), Meg Cabot, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Stephanie Laurens.

We met Lisa Kleypas during her Sugar Daddy tour in March 2007. She is every bit as lovely and gracious as she is online — a truly wonderful lady.

At M&M 2007, we met Elizabeth Hoyt, Madeline Hunter, Linda Howard, C.L. Wilson and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

We met many authors for the first time this year at M&M including Jennifer St. Giles, Trish Milburn, Cindy Kirk, Ana Aragon, Seressia Glass, Stephanie Bond, Suzanne Adair and Debbie Giusti.

Authors I would love to meet include: Cathy Maxwell, Anna Campbell, Laura Lee Guhrke, Colleen Gleason, Sophia Nash, Kathryn Caskie, Sara Bennett, Alexandra Benedict, Christine Wells, Kimberly Logan, Jo Goodman, Elizabeth Boyle, Monica McCarty, Gaelen Foley, Barbara Pierce, Adele Ashworth, Victoria Dahl, Sasha White, Olivia Parker, Debra Mullins, Christie Kelley, and Donna MacMeans. To name a few. LOL

    Have fun on Monday, Stacy!!!

I have yet to meet any authors. I do hope to someday attend a convention. I love Jacquie, too. I can’t wait for her third book in the Mayhem in Mayfair series. I would love to meet the Banditas and Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood, Gennita Low, Heather Graham, Lisa Kleypas, Stephanie Laurens, Nicole Jordan, Barbara Freethy and Allison Brennan.

Wow! I can’t believe there are so many books this month, Andrea. And my TBR stash is already overwhelming! :)

I’ve been lucky to meet some wonderful authors. Years ago, I met Nora Roberts at a book signing for her release of The Reef. She was friendly and gracious and took the time to chat. I’d love to meet up with her again.

In February, PJ and I went to Celebrate Romance and met so many fabulous authors who couldn’t have been friendlier. Loved them all: Karen Hawkins, Sabrina Jeffries, Cathy Maxwell, Elizabeth Hoyt, Jade Lee, Jacquie D’Alessandro, Jennifer St. Giles, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Stephanie Bond, Wendy Etherington, and so many more.

Last weekend I got to see some of the same wonderful ladies and meet Teresa Medeiros, who is an absolute doll. Also, Jenna Petersen, C.L. Wilson, (Trish Milburn, Joan Kayse, Nancy Northcott and Caren Crane of Romance Banditas), Cindy Kirk, Debbie Giusti, Karen White and Susan Crandall. There were so many amazing women, and I am continually humbled by the openness of the romance authors and readers. What a fantastic community!

I would love to meet Christina Dodd, Lisa Kleypas, Eloisa James, Connie Brockway, Elizabeth Bevarly, Julia Quinn, Kathryn Caskie, Sophia Nash, Diana Gabaldon, Colleen Gleason, Kathryn Smith…..I could go on and on. :)

Look at all the pretties :) Did someone say heaven…..Buffie? YUP, this is how I imagined it….books, books and more books!

WOW! I love the author ‘meet & greet’ stories! I haven’t met any authors yet, but a number have emailed me back when I’ve written effusive emails. Those replies leave me glowing! Nalini Singh lives in the same city I do, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed one day I can meet her. Otherwise, I’ll just have to keep visiting the library (and thus avoiding the bookstore) to save my pennies until I can cross the water and go to the RWA!

There are a lot of great books coming out this month. Is the Wallflower Christmas an anthology??

Anyway… I’ve never met any authors that I’m a total fangrl for. My mom knows Barbara Samuels, but that’s about it.

Um, Marisa, it’s been 15 days since your blog post about Mysteria Lane where a giveaway of the anthology and a new MaryJanice book were to be given to a random poster. On the 3rd (nearly a week ago), you said the winner would be announced soon. I’m sorry to keep nagging but having to keep checking for a winner post and not see it is frustrating.

Ooooh, look at all the pretty books! Release day is rapidly becoming my favorite day of the month. :)

I had so much fun at Celebrate Romance where I first met Gannon and all the terrific authors she mentioned. Then there was Moonlight & Magnolias last weekend where I got to see Jacquie, Jennifer and Teresa again and meet Buffie, Andrea and all the amazing authors they’ve already mentioned.

In 2006 I attended the RWA National literacy booksigning in Atlanta and met so many lovely, gracious authors including all the Squawkers (except Lisa), Victoria Alexander, Karen Hawkins, Jacquie D’Alessandro, Christie Ridgway, Terri Brisbin, Kimberly Cates, Julia Quinn, Debbie Macomber, Jayne Ann Krentz, SEP, Nora Roberts, Kristin Hannah, Betina Krahn, Stephanie Laurens, Cathie Linz, Sally MacKenzie, Diana Palmer and Jennifer Crusie…and I have pictures! :)

Last year I guessed Roxanne (Rocki) St. Claire when she was mystery author here. When I received my prize I noticed she lives less than a mile from one of my brothers and I mentioned it when I emailed my thanks to her. She sent me her phone number and told me to call next time I visited my brother. I did and it happened to be the weekend of her RWA chapter meeting. She took me to dinner at a chapter-mate’s house where I met several published and unpublished authors who were all just as warm and welcoming as Rocki is.

There are still lots of authors I’d love to meet in person and I’m hoping to see many of them next summer in DC. High on the list are Anna Campbell, Christine Wells, Lisa Kleypas, and Monica McCarty.

Heidenkind, A Wallflower Christmas is not an anthology. It’s Rafe Bowman’s story. He’s the brother of Lillian (It Happened One Autumn and Daisy (Scandal in Spring).

Orannia — you LIVE in the same town as Nalini Singh!???!!?!!!! I would absolutely love to meet her. I have devoured her Psy/Changeling series, and my review of the anthology THE MAGICAL CHRISTMAS CAT, which Nalini has a novella in, will be posted this weekend.

If I were you, I think I would be looking over my shoulder everywhere I went :)
