When former military intelligence officer, Mark Callahan, travels to Hawaii to rescue a hometown girl from a pornography kingpin the last two people he expects to encounter at the pornographer’s estate are his estranged wife, Annabelle Monroe and Radovanovic, the man responsible for the death of Mark’s brother, John. Former teammates on the elite Special Forces unit known as “The Fixers” and secretly married thanks to an impulsive decision in Vegas, Mark and Annabelle haven’t seen each other since he broke her heart and walked out of her life two years earlier. Though their mutual desire is still as intense as ever, Mark’s reasons for leaving haven’t changed and they make the difficult decision to legally end their marriage, but fate hasn’t quite finished with this pair. Six months later, when someone begins murdering members of their former team they must join forces to find the brutal killer who now has moved beyond the team members and has begun to target their families as well. As they race against time to discover the identity of the killer they must also deal with the ever deepening feelings between them and the sizzling desire that has never faded and grows hotter by the day. And then, when they finally believe everyone is safe, they’re stunned by the horrifying realization that there may be a totally unrelated second person stalking them and, even worse, that person could very well be someone they know and trust.

Mark and Annabelle have more obstacles to overcome on their journey to a happy ending than killers on the loose. The Callahan brothers’ obsession to avenge John’s death, their unrelenting search of the world for Radovanovic, the heartbreaking secret of Mark’s past and their father’s unspeakable betrayals have torn the Callahan family asunder and are instrumental in molding Mark into the haunted, unforgiving man he is today. Unless he can come to terms with his past there is no hope of him opening his heart to love. Annabelle, on the other hand, loves Mark with her whole heart and soul but she’s lost faith in him and may never be able to regain the trust necessary to let him back into her life on a permanent basis. The other Callahan brothers, their wives and Annabelle’s family all have key roles in this story and are instrumental in the outcome of Mark and Annabelle’s relationship. There are also secrets other than Mark’s that are uncovered, secrets I couldn’t have imagined, never would have guessed, secrets that will change the Callahan family and could tear Mark and Annabelle apart forever.

Though the book is filled with plenty of action, intrigue and heart-stopping suspense, this is, at its core, a story about second chances. After a twenty-year estrangement, will Mark and his father find forgiveness in their hearts and grasp the second chance offered to them? Will Mark find the courage to finally put his past behind him, take a second chance at love and make a permanent commitment to Annabelle? After having her heart shattered, will Annabelle be able to forgive Mark yet again and will she find the trust in him to give him another chance? And, finally, will Mark and Annabelle catch the killers before someone near and dear to them is forced to pay the ultimate price? Pick up a copy of Always Look Twice and discover for yourself why readers just can’t get enough of the sexy Callahan men and their action-packed adventures.

This book can be read as a stand-alone but, for maximum reading pleasure, I strongly recommend reading the series in order – Give Him the Slip, Never Say Never, Always Look Twice.

Sounds like a good one, PJ! I’ll have to read it, especially since my dh was a intel officer in the Navy.
