christina.jpgIt’s been an amazing year for us here at Romance Novel TV, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the romance community for their generosity of spirit, their support and friendship.

During the year we’ve met some incredible people, talented authors and devoted readers. We’ve traveled across the country filming book signings, covering conferences and interviewing authors. Our very first interview was at a college campus in New York City with author Eloisa James. She agreed to do an interview with us even before we had a home on the net. We invaded the English Department with cameras and lights and set up in a tiny office filled with books and desks and one electrical out let. We were hoping we didn’t blow a fuse and shut down all the computers at the university. We almost set fire to Caridad Pinero’s law office while setting up lights, tried not to destroy Sophia Nash’s home when we re-arranged it and put her living room in her kitchen, almost knocked over an entire wall of books at Nora Roberts’ book signing, traveled to the outskirts of Washington state making Christina Dodd change her clothes three times, melted our camera batteries in Dallas, got lost for hours on our way to Rebecca York’s home, was 3 hours late for an interview with Shirley Hailstock, arrived on Eloisa James’ doorstep a day early, disrupted the editorial department at Penguin and shot at Avon sophia.jpgwhile they were moving – and those are the things I can talk about.

The year has been filled with adventure and romance – lots and lots of romance.

We have many people to thank for helping us out a long the way, for their time, advice, and support – their generosity overwhelms me. Special thanks to Eloisa James, Sophia Nash, Cathy Maxwell, Kathryn Caskie , Nora Roberts, J.R. Ward Caridad Pinero, Anna Campbell, Sarah Wendell, Candy Tan, Jane from Dear Author, Gina Bernal, Mary Castillo and Jenna Petersen. We’d also like to thank all the women on the message board, especially Andrea, Buffie, Mary Kate, Keira, Gannon, P.J. and Terrio and Kim Castillo our production manager– we couldn’t do it with out you.

We’re looking forward to the next year.

Marisa O’Neill and Maria Lokken

Happy Anniversary to Romance Novel television! Has it really been a year? What memories you’ve given all of us . . . the interviews, the laughter, the scary threat of out takes, and that . . . that mechanical bull.

Thanks for the memories and so much more — new friendships!

    Happy Valentine’s Day,

    Sophia

A very very Happy Anniversary!! Marisa and Maria, you’re amazing! You took a germ of an idea, and then kernel by kernel the projecct was built got the most partin your minds. Then a year ago, you whisked the curtains aside and invited us to come and fly with you from city to city, and always at a frenetic pace. We’ve met celebrities of the romance book world, debut writers, mysterious writers, writers who love to travel and share, and writers who like to visit messages boards where they can be bombarded with reader questions. And through it all your delivered on your promise: Bringing writers to readers, bringing fans to writers. But far beyond that, The M’s along with Kim the Amazing have built that most wonderful of places: a coffee shop patterned on the French, with club house chairs, a tot of alcohol to be had with coffee if requested, massages, and hunks, courtesy of Buffie and Kim. But the best part of this coffee house are the hundreds of conversations, the laughter, the teasing, the drooling, the tearing-up, the support, the friendship, and…..the G.O.S.S.I.P. about the publishing industry, writers, and the writing life.

“Here’s looking at you two, kids.” (Have to quote Casablance.)

Congratulations and Thank you for building such a supportive community for the fans and writers of romance fiction! I’ve been a frequent visitor since noticing you roaming RWA’s Dallas conference and was honored to be a small, small part of it when the Romance Bandits invaded RNTV several weeks ago.

This is a wonderful site and so well done I am in awe that it is ONLY a year old. Here’s to many more years of success.

PS In anticipation of achieving publication should I stock up on surge protectors? 🙂

Wishing all of us a belated Happy Anniversary! RNTV is my first cyber stop every morning and usually my last stop at night. Y’all have done a wonderful job of creating this unique and very innovative internet romance world. Thank you for the wonderful videos, the fascinating guest authors, the always fun games, the laughs, the smiles, and the prizes. Mostly, thank you for the wonderful new friendships I’ve made here.

Here’s to many more RNTV anniversaries!
