Romance Novels of the 60’s were geared to middle class women with career goals. Apparently publishers thought we wanted to enter into the medical profession.

Maria, you made me laugh and cry at the same time. Between Navy Nurse and Hootenanny Nurse, I’m thinking I picked the wrong profession. Seriously we sure have come a long way, now we have romances about women who run the FBI, are out fighting Vampires, running companies, discovering treasures on archaeological digs, all the while being able to make choices about the men they love. So now in romance the Hootenanny Nurse just might be the hero and the Doctor just might be the heroine.
On a personal note, love you to sis – you’re an amazing woman, one of the best I know. You’re my sister, my best friend, my business partner and my role model. I always love jumping off the cliff with you, the ride is always so exciting. Have the best year ever!
